EXE Error Prevention
To understand how to prevent exe errors, you have to have an idea as to what causes them. There are several causes of exe errors. Maybe you got a bad virus or spyware infection and the infection(s) did damage to your program(s).
Maybe the program that is giving you exe errors has been corrupted. These problems can be tied directly to your registry. Exe files make up part of your registry.
We're going to start with making sure you have proper protection from malware then discuss registry protection in this piece.
How to Protect Yourself from Malware
Malware these days can be Trojans, spyware, keyloggers, or viruses. You can be infected just by going to a website that has malicious advertisements. To protect yourself and your computer, you need to make sure you have programs that will protect you from malware.
You must have both anti-spyware and anti-virus programs. There are lots of programs out there to choose from, but there are also fake programs that present themselves as the real thing.
If you ever get a pop up telling you that you are infected and if you download program x now you will be free of it, you have just been exposed to malware, and the program advertised is malware.
Do some research before you pick a anti-spyware or anti-virus. After you have these programs on your computer, you want to update and run them. Keep the practice of updating and running these programs on a weekly basis. Most programs are similar in how they work so I'm going to give you the basics on how to do this.
-
Start your anti-virus program
-
Look for the update tab or button
-
Choose to update the program. There will usually be a progress bar for you to watch the download and install of updates.
-
Now you will want to select the run option, pick all of your hard drives and let it scan your computer.
-
Follow the same steps with your anti-spyware program.
Use of a Registry Cleaner for exe Error Prevention
As I mentioned earlier exe files are part of your registry. When your registry gets corrupted, there are two things you can do. The first one is go into regedit and attempt to fix it yourself. I strongly advise against this as you can do more harm than good in regedit.
You can turn your computer into a paperweight if you make one wrong move.
So that leaves using a registry cleaner as the safer, and much easier step to do. Once you find and download a good registry cleaner you run it on a weekly basis and it will prevent exe errors.
