#1 Give Your RAM an Upgrade

Your computer RAM is just like the car’s engine. Over the years, your engine might go outdated and is replaced by newer and better technology. You got to keep up with the ever-changing technology and remember to upgrade your RAM.

It may cost you quite a bit, but it is money well spent. As such, do consider upgrading your RAM. This would allow your computer to have more memory. However, before you change your RAM, check and make sure that the slow processing is due to the insufficient RAM memory.

#2 Optimize The Registry

If you are not very sure what the registry is, then it is alright. Not everyone knows what exactly the registry is, but believe it or not, the registry is considered as one of the most important component in your computer. If your computer is slowing down drastically over the years, than it is time to take a look at your registry.

The registry saves your files, login information and such. These files are called registry keys and they play an important role in instructing your computer on how it should run.

However, over time, the keys might get disrupted, corrupted or even go missing. Without the right files, the computer slows down, as it has to go around the missing files before getting to the right one. Just like barricades, these corrupted files are preventing the computer from getting the right file, fast.

Other problems pertaining to the registry would be false entries. You can’t delete files from the registry as such, over the years, more and more data will be stored within the registry. Even if you delete this data, you can’t remove them from the registry. So over time, false data build ups and this further slows down your computer’s performance.

To solve these problems, you can simply get a registry cleaner which would help you to identify which are the files that are unnecessary, and delete them off the system.

#3 Avoid Multiple Programs

Everyone loves multi tasking and I can bet there are a lot of times when you have several applications running at the same time.

Everyone is guilty of this. But if you are really serious about achieving the best performance for your computer, then you have got to reduce the times where you have several programs open at one time. Every computer has its limit and by ignoring this limit, you are just preventing it from performing at its ultimate potential.
