Run.dll Error

Finding errors on your computer can be a source of frustration. It is compounded if you are unsure about how to fix it. The truth is, however, that if you are using a PC, you will most likely run into errors of some sort. These problems occur in your Window Registry.

What is a Windows Registry?

A registry is a massive repository, or stockroom, if you will, of information. Just like a stockroom can get cluttered and messy this happens also with a registry. The longer you use your PC, the more information gets stored in there.

There is always room for mishaps and errors. This can slow your computer’s performance down and if not corrected, can make you prone to having errors.

Where Do These Run.dll Errors Come From?

Your computer uses run.dll files in order to run applications, programs and files. If this file is corrupted in some way or is not in its precise location, your programs, files and applications cannot be loaded. It is at this time that you receive the error message.

This could also be an indication that you have become infected with a virus or some type of spyware.

Remove the Error by Following These Steps

  1. Identify the Problem

You will need to find the exact run.dll process, and it is not as difficult as it sounds. Take the exact name of the error and check it against an online process library to be certain that you are not dealing with spyware or a virus. Visit www.processlibrary.com for details on the error.

  1. Stop the Process

  • Go to your “Start Menu”

  • Click on “Run”

  • When the command screen pops up, type in “services.msc”

  • This brings up the Services Management window. Now, drag your mouse over to one of the services. When you right click on the service, you will receive detailed information.

  1. Now, Delete

  • Click “Start”

  • Click “Run”

  • Type “regedit”

  • Find this registry key:
    “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE> SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ RUN”

  • In the right section click:"rusvdgpo" = "%System%undll32.exe %System%usvdgpo.dll, [RANDOM LETTERS]"

  • Delete the value and Restart.

A Registry Cleaner Can Also Run.dll Errors

If you tried to repair or fix the error on your own and you were unsuccessful, you may want to try a registry cleaner. These programs are designed to do the work for you, will scan your computer to check for errors, and can then remove them automatically.

Many computer users do not have the time or computer expertise to fix these problems on their own, which is precisely how registry cleaners came into being. So, to eliminate the room for error on your part, you may want to consider a registry cleaner to get the job done right.
