Speedup PC Shutdown

Do I Need a Computer Science Degree to Fix Slow Windows Shutdown and Startup Issues?

There are literally thousands of processes working during the startup and shutdown of your operating system. Fix slow Windows shutdown and start up processes as they appear so that the issues don’t accumulate into bigger problems down the line. If you are new to troubleshooting computers, have no fear!

It helps to know a little bit about the way your machine works to be able to understand what causes the delays in your system. It could be said that each program must wait in line during both the starting and closing of your computer. This causes slow startup or shutdown problems due to your CPU’s inability to organize programs efficiently.

Did I lose you? The CPU stands for Central Processing Unit (otherwise known as the processor). All you need to know is that the CPU is the primary element carrying out the computer's functions. As the years go by, if we don’t maintain our machines, the CPU becomes overloaded.

When it Comes to Startup and Shutdown Problems, Consider Several Factors

  1. Lack of maintenance – If you ignore the early signs that your machines needs its registry cleaned, it will only make matters worse.

  2. Driver complications – When we install and uninstall programs, sometimes they become fragmented. This just means that the installations were incomplete in some way leaving behind fragments of data that slow down your machine’s performance.

  3. Spyware – This is a serious culprit for many computer issues and should be watched out for.

How to Speed Up a Slow Startup

Your starting process should be efficient. If you have to wait several minutes just to get your desktop to appear, something is probably wrong.

Clean your registry. A clogged registry is the major cause of slow startup and shutdown problems. The registry is a storehouse of all the settings for files, installs and uninstalls on your computer. The registry can, and more often than not does, become extremely corrupted. There are great registry cleaning products available and they have become quite affordable.

How to Handle Slow Shutdown Problems

Your machine’s shutdown process is not as complicated as your startup. Shutdown problems are often caused by hardware conflicts. Have you recently installed new hardware? If so and your machine is taking forever to shut down, it may be as simple as uninstalling the program and then reinstalling it.

Be diligent in learning as much as you can about computer maintenance. It just takes patience and a little “know how” to get your machine running in tiptop shape. Start with a good registry cleaner because it will eliminate most of the problems associated with regular wear and tear.

You don’t need a degree in computer science to find an advanced registry cleaner that can take care of most of your startup and shutdown issues.
